Hello Twenty Eighteen

Can you guys even believe how fast 2017 went by!? I hope ya’ll are having a good start to the New Year! This year my babies will turn 6 and 9! I can’t believe how big they are getting! It sure is hard on this mama’s heart. I miss them being babies so much! Those two are my whole world and they always come first. Keeping up with them and their busy little schedules + homeschooling makes life a little crazy. They making life worth living, but still.. crazy busy!

It’s been really hard to find the time to make posts or even keep my house clean, if I’m being honest.. But I have missed blogging so much lately. When I started this blog last March, I had good intentions of posting regularly and sharing any creative thoughts or projects with you guys, right then and there.. but its been harder than I expected it to be to find time.

I love having this blog and my Instagram and being able to chat with y’all about Jesus, farmhouse decor, Kentucky life, projects, family, shopping and everything in between! So thank you so much for sticking with me even when I go MIA for a while. I’m gonna try hard to be more consistent this year and to make time for this creative outlet I love so much! You all make my heart happy. So thankful for my sweet friends following along!

I wanted to share the changes I’ve made lately around the house and some of my favorite pieces in our home right now, for my first blog post of Twenty Eighteen! So here we go!

This little spot is one my favorites in the holler right now. I added lots of texture and kept everything really neutral with pops of green like the rest of the spaces in our home right now. I created this wreath from a basic 7.99 grapevine wreath from Hobby Lobby and a pack of garland on sale. I cut sections off the garland and stuck them in the bottom until it was as full as I wanted and that’s it! So easy! It took less than 5 minutes and very little money and I had a new wreath! No glue or wire needed.

So, last week I got a Magnolia Market gift card for my birthday, and of course, I wasted no time using it. Some of the goodies I ordered were these, Norah Zinc Vases, the Magnolia leaf garland, clear antique seltzer bottles (they both still had some seltzer left in them! So neat!) 2 of the large size Stella hanging pots and a wire bird house. I had planned to save these items for spring but I just couldn’t wait to decorate with them! Even though they are a little bit springy, I’m trying to make it all work, so I can enjoy them now too. We also switched the light above our kitchen table this week and it made this tiny space look so much bigger! It was a $20 barn light in bronze from Lowes. I painted it with Magnolia + Kilz chalk style paint in the color Shiplap (my favorite!!!) and distressed it with a sanding block to give it a vintage finish.

Have you chose a word for 2018 yet? I typically never really make resolutions or choose words for the New Year. I just always hope to be even closer to God each year and be a better mama and wife. But this year the word “Enough” keeps pulling at my heart and popping up when I least expect it. I struggle with being able to do “enough” in life. Am I being a good enough mommy to my kids? Am I showing them enough grace? Am I patient enough when I teach them in our homeschool? Am I being a good enough wife? or daughter? or friend? Is my faith strong enough? Sometimes it’s hard to find balance and strength, but I want to feel sufficient in this life God has given me. I worry so much and I battle anxiety, fear and depression every single day. It’s not pretty at all.. But I just pray to just be still and let my Savior move throughout my life and trust that he will lead me and comfort me when I’m feeling less than “enough”.  That’s my constant prayer for this year. I have two gorgeous signs from SmallwoodHome that serve as a beautiful daily reminder, for me to trust in The Lord with all my heart and have faith in his plan for our life.

I’m all about cozy and comfy, so this dreamy, Rivulets quilt + euro shams from Anthropologie was a long wished for gift from my babies and hubby and I’m so in love! It’s the softest bedding I have ever owned and the detail work is so amazing! I can’t say enough great things about this quilt! I have had my eye on it for years! But the price was much more than I have ever spent on bedding before and I am typically pretty frugal about what I choose to spend money on. I always look for a sale or something that looks similar, but less expensive. But every time I went to purchase bedding, I couldn’t find anything that even compared. So.. I waited and didn’t buy any bedding for our room for a really long time. We are talking years! But ya’ll.. it was so worth the wait!! After opening this quilt and seeing the quality, the price tag made complete sense. The quality is incredible and I feel like it will last a really long time. I checked their website for you guys, and it’s currently on sale for 20% off with their House + Home event. If you’ve been waiting for a sale, now is your chance! This isn’t a sponsored post. I just want to share with my buddies, some good deals when I see them!

I hope you guys have a blessed Twenty Eighteen! Thanks for always being so encouraging, uplifting and supportive! I’m so thankful for each of you!
